What happens to my disability insurance if I get a new job?

Your individual long-term disability policy is yours to keep no matter where you work. If you change jobs, you take your coverage with you and it stays in place as long as you keep paying premiums.

Since disability policies are meant to replace your earned income, we recommend you contact us to review your coverage each time you change jobs. This is particularly important if your new job also comes with a material change in your income, employer benefits or job duties. These changes could lead to you being over or under-insured, so a review can help you make sure you always have the right coverage for your situation.
